The aim of the project The module Sustainable Education through European Studies for Young Researchers (SESYR) aims to integrate the vision of the EU on research sustainability by means of two dimensions covered in the European research strategy, i.e. employability and entrepreneurship in all doctoral strategies and activities. The module uses the approach by offering young researchers the support needed to understand the context of their integration into the European labor market, the experiences of other doctoral schools in the EU, in terms of increasing employability and entrepreneurial activities by means of new funding mechanisms and by adding value to careers of young researchers. The objectives of the project The promotion of EU issues related to the sustainability of young researchers' careers (PhD and postdoctoral students) is part of the management plan of our doctoral school. The connections made through scientific seminars, conferences and workshops carried out within our doctoral school have already proven this concern. The research conducted in doctoral dissertations contains at least one chapter dedicated to the European context and the articles published by doctoral students include many references to European reports. The module Sustainable Education though European Studies for Young Researchers (SESYR) is relevant for the integrative training of young people from Eastern Europe so as enable them to understand and interact with their counterparts in developed countries, or, in other words, to "speak the same European professional language". The module is relevant for the following reasons:1. It creates links between knowledge through research and its applicability in the economic and social life in the region; 2. It increases the significance of European reports/ research for the progress of doctoral work; 3. It develops relationships between young researchers' transferable skills (employability, entrepreneurial, fund raising); 4. It integrates the new European concept of collaborative doctoral research in Romanian universities. Expected impact of the project The estimated direct impact of the Module is firstly oriented towards a more dynamic research career of doctoral students in economics, in particular, and of humanities sciences, in general. A significant percentage of the graduates of PhD studies continue their research career in higher education institutions and research institutes in the country and in Europe. By including in their studies the European dimension, entrepreneurial competences and research management skills, the doctoral students will be more involved in research projects, including EU partnerships, will access more EU funds for their researches, thus enhancing their career opportunities significantly. Within their research careers, they are excepted to obtain better results in terms of published articles, participation in conferences, raised funds for their research, and subsequently for the host institution. Another significant percentage of the graduates of PhD studies are perusing their careers in organization where, by capitalizing on the acquired knowledge during the Module, they will enhance the innovative dimension and will contribute to the transfer of knowhow between Academia and the industry (and more probably will increase the chances of obtaining financing for research ventures within the intelligent specialization strategy). The PhD students will be actively involved in all project activities: courses, seminars, individual and group practical activities and exercises, by means of which they will be able to understand theoretical concepts and the applications presented, resorting to a constructivist approach that combines deductive and inductive logic. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to participate in bringing contributions for the newsletter that will be published within the project.

| | Team of the project Adriana PRODAN – Coordinator of the SESYR Project She is a professor at FEBA and teaches human Resource Management and Consultancy in Management. She has skills in European Projects Management as she held the positions of Project Manager of Phare 2006-2008; Assistant manager of POSDRU 2008-2011; Training Manager POSDRU 2012; Project Manager of the Doctoral School since 2012-present. Within the seminars of the Doctoral School, she invited professors and researchers from the EU (Konstanz, Brussels, and Grenoble) to present current topics in European doctoral research. She was a member of the European project FP7 Structural Transformation in Achieve Gender Equality in Science - http://www.stages.csmcd.ro/ and created a network focused on encouraging gender studies. She will hold the position of Module Coordinator and Event Manager. Within the module, she will teach a course on strategic lines of developing research projects in the EU. Constantin Marius APOSTOAIE – Team Member He is Scientific Research Assistant at the Integrated Center for Studies in Environmental Science for the Northeast Region where he performs research in the field of environmental economics. As a researcher, he published over 35 peer-reviewed articles in important databases, high-rated peer-reviewed journals (he also holds a PhD in Finance with the Excellent rating, since 2012). He is also Associate Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration where he holds seminars in 'Project Management', 'Industrial Management and Project Administration', 'The Building Blocks in the European Integration Process', 'Landmarks in the European Integration Process'. He has a diversified experience in project and team management built on intensive training and seminars and capitalized in active participation in several structural and research projects (in Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus, POSDRU, POSCCE, and with cumulated sources of financing of over € 18 mil). Ana-Maria BERCU – Team Member She is Associate Professor, PhD in management since 2008 (with Very good rating) with specific expertise in economics, especially in industrial relations and management of labor relations in the European space. She teaches courses on European studies in economic education (BA and MA), since 2001. She is Jean Monnet professor with expertise in the field of European regional competitiveness and human resource development, since 2014, and in career management of European civil servants, since 2010, and member of Centre of Excellence in European Studies, since 2009. Research areas are regional competitiveness, human resources, and personnel strategies for European entrepreneurs, industrial relations and management of labor relation in European Union. As teacher will take care of teaching the following subjects: industrial relation in European Union, negotiation, strategies and policies in EU, legal framework of working conditions, training, and payroll and labor discipline. Gabriela BOLDUREANU – Team Member She has been a Scientific Researcher III in Management since 2015 and has had a PhD in Management since 2004 and her research has been in entrepreneurship, management, innovation and performance of enterprises. She took part in 45 conferences and published 6 books and 65 articles in national and international journals. She has been teaching management, entrepreneurship in higher education since 1998 and in this Jean Monet module she will focus on: Entrepreneurship, research and innovation in Europe and Entrepreneurship education for young researchers in EU. She participated as an expert and a member in different European projects: INTERREG, POSDRU, in which European studies topics have been approached from a multidisciplinary perspective. Irina Teodora MANOLESCU – Team Member She is currently an Associate Professor at FEBA where she holds courses in Project management for more than 15 years. She held the position of Project Manager and was part of the management and implementation team in over 25 research and development projects. Acting as a trainer in project management in over 20 training programs she worked with a diverse target group. As a trainer in research management she was involved in activities specific to research development projects. The experience as teaching internationally project management was acquired during two 2 Erasmus and Erasmus + fellowships. She also participated in the carrying out of the impact study regarding interventions and added value of the Sectorial Operational Program „Growth of Economic Competitiveness" during 2007-2013. Moreover, she is a certified trainer and project manager. Her research in project management resulted in paper presentations and publication of specialized articles and courses. Ana Iolanda VODĂ – Team Member She is Scientific Researcher III at the Department of Interdisciplinary Research – Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania) (First-class honors). The main fields of research are: institutions in EU, economic development, migration and European culture. Research outcomes: single author book, three book chapters as author and co-author, edited 3 books, 4 national research projects, out of which, 1 as a Director, team member in 1 international project, 60 articles and studies published in the country and abroad, over 35 paper presentations in the country and abroad, and 7 citations in ISI/BDI-rated journals, studies published in the country and abroad She is also an Associate Teacher at Faculty of Economics and Business Administration where she teaches seminars in 'Political Economy', 'World Economy' and 'Institutional Economy'. |
